- The blow out preventer is a safety device to regulate uncontrolled pressure spikes and prevent blowouts. Drilling mud is pumped through it to control the pressure spikes. As a last result the choke and kill hose can activate the shears to close off the well or cement can be pumped down the well to seal it off permanently.

- Fire tested and Lloyd’s certified to 700°C (1300°F) in accordance with API 16D (Certificate #NAO 0601041/1)
This certificate applies to the 1” size only. During the certification for the 1” size, Dixon was advised by Lloyds during the process that the 1” would set the precedence for the rest of the series and sizes.
Dixon confirm that all other sizes of WS-Series BOP Couplings (3/4”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, 2”) are manufactured to the same quality and standard as the 1”. Copies of this certification are available.

Traditional butterfly valve assemblies are heavy, time consuming to assemble and difficult to use. We applied our engineering expertise and 40 plus years of industry knowledge to design something better. The Munro Valve is 30% to 90% lighter, easier to use and dramatically reduces leaks.

- Hammer unions work at extremely high pressures. Mismatching components of one series with another (i.e. series 602 with series 1502) can lead to destruction of property, serious bodily injury or death.
